The left’s war on normality continues. Apparently, they are allowed to infiltrate and infect every aspect of your life, but if you resist or dare to find or create alternatives for things they have destroyed or are currently destroying, you will be tracked down and harassed until you capitulate.
It has been almost three years now since ‘Hallmark Channel’ announced they would push sin as normal (AKA include gay stuff in their allegedly wholesome programming), and as their ‘talent’ contracts began to expire, many of them decided it was time to take leave of the once family-friendly series of related channels.
Enter ‘Great American Family‘, which began life years ago as ‘Great American Country’ (a country music channel established by ‘Jones Radio Network’), before being purchased by ‘Scripps Networks’, then sold to ‘Discovery Inc.’. Then, as part of the merger with ‘Warner Media’, Discovery sold off GAC to an investment group including Bill Abbott, who is the former President and CEO of Crown Media Family Networks, which owns Hallmark.
The acronym GAC has now changed to ‘Great American Channels’ as they will have multiple (Great American Family and Great American Living are the two that Great American Media has in place now), similar to Hallmark. So that makes it an attractive place for the former Hallmark’ers to resume producing actual true real proper family-friendly (and faith-based) programming.
Candace Cameron Bure, originally known for her role on ‘Full House’ (1987-1995) and its continuation, ‘Fuller House’ (2016-2020), but more recently as ‘Aurora Teagarden’ (among other characters) on Hallmark, is the biggest name, as she not only will act and produce but will also take on an executive role at GAC, overseeing and curating programming.
But she isn’t the only one signing up. Danica McKellar, perhaps best known as ‘Winnie Cooper’ in ‘The Wonder Years’ (1988-1993) and an actual math genius…the “Chayes–McKellar–Winn theorem” is partly named after her, also joined as did Lori Loughlin…who did her crime (college admissions scandal) and served her time, along with a host of others.
But it is Candace who is taking all of the grief online, as being the most visible makes her the biggest and best target. It runs in the family as her older brother and fellow actor Kirk Cameron has been outspoken about his Christian beliefs for years, and has taken heat for it too.
The comments online on social(IST) media sites or comment sections on articles about her are filled with hate and double standards, accusing her of the behavior they are actually doing (such as being a nazi, a hypocrite, and being pro KKK, among other things).
Even her former ‘middle sister’ from ‘Full House’ and ‘Fuller House’, actress Jodie Sweetin, attacked Bure. But Jodie has admitted drug and alcohol addictions since the original show ended, and does espouse alt-far-left beliefs. Sweetin was even thrown to the ground by police after charging their ‘line’ during a June, 2022, protest over her ‘right’ to kill babies.
We talked prior about the left going after Christians and Christmas (HERE, HERE, and HERE), but you can’t have a Christmas movie without acknowledging Christ. Candace knows that, saying “My heart wants to tell stories that have more meaning and purpose and depth behind them. I knew that the people behind Great American Family were Christians that love the Lord and wanted to promote faith programming and good family entertainment.”
She also said, “I think that Great American Family will keep traditional marriage at the core.” But she did hedge a bit by adding, “It’s certainly the year 2022, so we’re aware of the trends. There’s no whiteboard that says, ‘Yes, this’ or ‘No, we’ll never go here.’” Apparently, Abbott has indicated they may add programming in the future focusing on other faiths and beliefs, but for now the intent is to focus on Christianity and themes friendly to that.
Candace responded to the hate, saying “All of you know me, know beyond question that I have great love and affection for all people. It absolutely breaks my heart that anyone would ever think I intentionally would want to offend and hurt anyone. It saddens me that the media is often seeking to divide us, even around a subject as comforting and merry as Christmas movies. But, given the toxic climate in our culture right now, I shouldn’t be surprised. We need Christmas more than ever.”
Adding, “I am a devoted Christian, which means that I believe that every human being bears the image of God. Because of that, I am called to love all people, and I do. If you know me, you know that I am a person who loves fiercely and indiscriminately. My heart yearns to build bridges and bring people one step closer to God, to love others well, and to simply be a reflection of God’s huge love for all of us.”
She concluded with, “To the members of the media responsible for using this opportunity to fan flames of conflict and hate, I have a simple message: I love you anyway. To those who hate what I value and who are attacking me online: I love you. To those who have tried to assassinate my character: I love you. To everyone reading this, of any race, creed, sexuality, or political party, including those who have tried to bully me with name calling, I love you.”
Contrary to strong opinion, Jesus did not actually say “Love the sinner; hate the sin”, but he did say that it isn’t hateful to tell someone they are sinning, and also not a loving thing to leave them stuck in sin. Sin is contrary to God’s nature and is not to be excused, it is to be hated. You show a sinner respect by praying for them, not by accepting their sin as normal.
There is no such thing as being ‘inclusive’ of sin. Too many believe Jesus was some kind of hippy, when the cleansing of the Temple event disproves that. He was anything but tolerant of the money-changers and sales people setting up shop there and turning God’s house of prayer into a marketplace.
The left took Hallmark, after Abbott left, without a struggle. They also pretend to be like us, but are not. They now turn their attention to GAC. Leftists destroy everything that they touch, so don’t let them touch you.
Parler is likely gone for good as of April 14, 2023. Twitter account abandoned May 12, 2023, after Elon Musk hired WEF’er Linda Yaccarino as new CEO.
